It's a boy.
Babe-E was born at 8:26 PM on March 15, 2010. He weighs 7 pounds and one ounce and is 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and Baby are sleeping and Dad is headed that way soon. More info and pictures to come...
The day has come!
We're here at the hospital. M's parents are on the way to be with us and will stay in our house while we're here. She's had an epidural and is resting comfortably. The hospital room looks out onto another building that is under construction. In the scaffolding, a pair of crows are making a nest. A dear friend, according to her tradition, has given Babe-E it's honorary name. (M and I have already picked out the baby's legal name, we are just waiting to learn gender so we know which one to use.) So, as I sit and watch M sleep, I enjoy this liminal time and await the arrival of Little Crow.

False Alarm
We had a false alarm this morning. We thought M's water had broken but we weren't sure, so we went in to get checked. Here is video where you can hear the baby's heartbeat! During the hour M was on the monitor, the baby's heart-rate varied between 120 and 160. Our nurse, Nancy, said everything was great, the heartbeat was good and strong, but it isn't time yet. So, it was a practice run. Stay tuned!
(The sound is low on this, so you might need to turn it up a bit...)
